Meet Our Management Team
Lesley Gouldie, Chief Executive Officer
Lesley is a unique combination of visionary and pragmatist, keeping her eye on the big picture while leaving no stone unturned. This 360 viewpoint allows Lesley to make sure that Studentawards has a perspective of the ever-changing manner in which students engage with the world at large, bringing constant strategic value to our clients, as well as Canadian students and educators.
Lesley obtained her post secondary education in South Africa, acquiring 2 undergraduate degrees and a professional designation, whereupon she promptly crossed the cold Atlantic to come to Canada. Not afraid of variety or change, Lesley has experienced the challenge of CPG to technology environments. Before taking the helm at Studentawards in 2008, Lesley spent her time most recently in senior executive roles at a division of the Thomson Corporation,
Suzanne Tyson, President
Suzanne has over 20 years of business experience in publishing, mobile communications and loyalty marketing. As President of Studentawards Inc. Suzanne is committed to helping students succeed in their pursuit of higher education. Suzanne got her BA from Western in 1987 and returned there to get an MBA in 1996—she counts her lucky stars because her graduating MBA class was the first to boast the Ivey name—and the second last to benefit from tuition under $3,000 per year! Since success at college or university is often dependent upon financial factors, it is Suzanne’s mission to help as many people as possible find money for school through studentawards.com.
Tessa Mintz, VP Account Management
Tessa brings a strong strategic vision to every project she touches. She works in partnership with each of our clients to thoroughly understand their business objectives and to develop integrated marketing strategies that bring response and results. She is also responsible for ensuring that Studentawards Inc. creative, IT and project management teams work seamlessly together in order to deliver on our client’s expectations – and then some. What’s more, with two Masters Degrees under her belt, Tessa has expertise in the design and analysis of research projects. She works tirelessly to make complex information simple for clients and tailor’s its interpretation within each client’s business context.
Adam D’Alessandro, VP Information Technology
Since joining Studentawards Inc., Adam has been instrumental in the creation and development of the studentawards.com scholarship search service. In particular, he created a proprietary backend database that drives the functionality of the website and management tools for ongoing streamlining, reporting and efficiencies. Adam plays an integral role in CRM architecture, campaign production, program analysis and data mining, all the while managing a team of in-house developers and programmers.
Richard Choi, VP Research Services
Richard oversees Market Research operations and client service at Studentawards Inc. A specialist in data collection, he has strong backgrounds in CATI and online methodologies and has extensive experience covering every aspect of the process from sales, project management, questionnaire design & programming to field & data delivery. With over a decade of experience in various roles in the market research industry, he is a self-styled data collection Swiss army knife.
Wanda Lum, Manager, Scholarship Services
Wanda leads the charge on a team of scholarship aficionados who do everything possible to support Studentawards.com members in their quest for educational funding. Wanda’s bilingual team of experienced scholarship managers has raised the bar over the last decade in the scholarship arena, creating and managing new and innovate programs to reward Canadian students, while meeting clients’ growing Corporate Social Responsibility needs.
Dulcey Hoffman, Office Manager & Bookkeeper
Dulcey serves as the operational glue that holds it all together at Studentawards Inc. In addition to managing the office inner workings and keep our dollars and cents in line, she works tirelessly with all departments to support them in special tasks from coordinating Studentawards.com trade-shows to heading our company charity campaigns. Although Dulcey has the unique distinction of dual titles at Studentawards Inc, it was a compromise since “office manager, bookkeeper, trade show coordinator, charity drive organizer, administrative whip, vendor contact manager, office supplier, prizing administrator, event planner, social coordinator, personal assistant & corporate executive concierge” was deemed too long for email and correspondence.
